What is a C5 Education?

Ephesians 3.8-10

8 To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to bring to light for everyone what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God, who created all things, 10 so that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.

Ephesians 3.8-10 brings together the 5 C’s of a C5 Education.

A C5 Education is about bringing the richest of educations (v. 8) — “Classical”

which are found in Christ (v. 8) — “Christian”

to everyone everywhere (v. 9). — “Community” / “Great Commission”

Because all things are created by God in Christ, the subject to be studied is “ALL THINGS” (v. 9) for the cultivation of Wisdom (v. 10). — “Christian” / “Classical”

And God designed all this to happen through His Church (v. 10)! — “Church”

The 5 “C’s” that C5 is committed to are:

  1. The Church

  2. Classical educational philosophy

  3. Unapologetically Christian commitment

  4. Located within the community being served

  5. For the sake of Great Commission (Matthew 28.18-20)
